A neighborhood in McKinney, Texas is called Erwin Farms, but there are not usually any farm animals there.

Last week was the exception, however, when a herd of goats from a nearby development came looking for their next meal.

No sign at that the door can really cover it all.

"It gets a little wild around here every now and then,” said Piersall.

Here is a new McKinney neighborhood.

"Yeah, we've been here four years,” said Piersall.

There was no stopping them. A group that took the farm in Irwin Farms too seriously.

"We woke up and I said, Marlon, you won't believe what happened on the cove this morning,” said Piersall.

Nobody would believe it.

"40 goats on my lawn,” said Piersall.

Until they saw it from multiple house cameras that caught it. It was late Saturday, early Sunday.

"They were coming down the road right there just really slowly and just kind of chilled out right here,” said Mike Danielson.

40 goats broke from the herd that was grazing at a nearby development. Normally tasked with eating down the vegetation, helping with fire season. Instead, took a stroll through this neighborhood.

"I think they ate a little bit from everybody's yard all the way around the circle here. In fact, one of the guys just, just on two legs eating my tree. It was pretty wild,” said Piersall.

Naturally, a few yards were picked clean, including Garrett Pearsall’s bushes.

"It actually did us a favor because we were going to pull them probably this week or next anyways,” said Piersall.

We tried looking for the herd, we're told they're all back together.

"You would think 500 goats would be easy to find, but it's not,” said Jobin Panicker.

The firm that employs the goats did not want to be a part of this story.

"They took care of things very quickly. I think they got his flowers replaced within maybe a couple of hours,” said Danielson.

Most everything we're told has been replaced, including normalcy, here in this McKinney neighborhood.

"The grass is greener on the other side over here,” said Danielson.
