Off-duty Border Patrol agent dies in swimming accident on vacation

CONCAN, Texas – An off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent died while vacationing with family in the Frio River near Garner State Park.

Garner State Park officials say the incident happened near private property on the opposite side of the Garner State Park property.

This statement was released by U.S. Border Patrol and Customs, ”On June 17, 2023, an off-duty Border Patrol agent assigned to the San Diego Sector was involved in a swimming accident near Concan, Texas. The agent succumbed to his injuries at the scene and the incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.”

Authorities are further investigating the incident.
