Registered sex offender wanted after allegedly using Instagram to assault teenage girl
SAN ANTONIO - The Bexar County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding a registered sex offender who used social media to assault a teenage girl.
Bexar County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched on March 7 to the 10000 block of Marbach Road. When deputies arrived, they spoke to the victim who reported that 20-year-old Daniel Michael Martinez had sexually assaulted her.
The 14-year-old victim reported that Martinez had met the victim on Instagram and believed he was younger. Martinez then allegedly picked up the victim in a vehicle, where she claims Martinez sexually assaulted her.
The victim was then dropped off at her home and made an outcry that she had been sexually assaulted. Investigators responded to the location and they were able to identify the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Martinez, a registered sex offender, with another active warrant for Sexual Assault of a Child. Investigators issued a warrant for his arrest and he has been on the run ever since.
