A west Travis County man is lucky to be alive after being stabbed multiple times by his roommate, U.S. Marshals say.

34-year-old Jose Alberto Ocampo is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing that occurred on March 26th.

First responders arrived at a home on Red Fox Road, where they found a man stabbed at least three times. The victim sustained stab wounds on his left side of his face, under his left armpit, as well as his left leg. The victim was bleeding profusely and there was blood throughout the residence.

Sheriff's deputies found a 10-inch knife covered in blood and learned that the victim's roommate, Jose Alberto Ocampo, was the attacker.

First responders were able to get the victim the medical attention he needed, but he lost so much blood that he had to be life-flighted by helicopter to a local trauma center.

Ocampo left the scene in a black Ford Mustang and hasn't been seen since. He's also known to drive a black Nissan Altima with Texas plates RNK-9238.

U.S Marshals describe Ocampo as covered in tattoos that aren't easy to hide. He's bald, with full tattoos on his head, tattoos on his face including '512' right above the eye, and numerous tattoos on his neck, chest, and back.

Ocampo is still believed to be in the Austin area. He's 5'7" and weighs 210 pounds.

Authorities are keen to find him and say this incident could have ended much differently. If you have any information, please contact the U.S. Marshals at 1-800-336-0102 or visit their website.
