In May of last year, Keith Moreland suffered the biggest scare of his life. The University of Texas Baseball legend and former MLB player suffered a heart attack on the golf course, which eventually prompted surgery at the Heart Hospital of Austin. Moreland credits his doctors at the hospital for saving his life.
"How do you thank people that saved your life?” A question Moreland asks himself often. “I would tell everybody, one little screening and I could’ve avoided being flat on my back passed out.”
These days, Moreland is back in the broadcast booth working as one of the voices of Longhorn Baseball. He also calls games for ESPN, including the NCAA Tournament and the Little League World Series.
CBS Austin's Jeff Barker caught up with Moreland to discuss his recovery, as well as his thoughts on UT Baseball's chances in the NCAA Tournament.
