UPDATE: The U.S. Marshals Service says Hector Gutierrez-Chavez "Self-Surrendered" Tuesday afternoon to the Travis County Jail. They received six tips following the Marshal's Most Wanted segment.

Further details were not available.

=====================

ORIGINAL STORY:

Hector Gutierrez-Chavez, 28, is wanted in a sexual assault that happened on January 20th after a night out at a bar in Pflugerville.

“Gutierrez-Chavez goes out for a night to eat and have some drinks at this bar and engages in conversation with the bartender. Hours later, that bartender becomes our victim,” said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.

The bartender went to 6th Street with Gutierrez-Chavez where they had more drinks until she said she was ready to go.

“She returns from the restroom, consumes that last shot and that’s the last time she recalls having any type of consciousness,” said Filla.

She woke up the next morning and reported the incident. Travis County sheriff’s deputies obtained surveillance video from a hotel where Gutierrez-Chavez is allegedly seen going inside and booking a room with cash before going back to his car.

“He comes to the car, reaches into the backseat, and pulls this female from the backseat,” said Filla. “You can see on the video surveillance that the female is unconscious from the mannerisms of her body.”

Deputies spoke with Gutierrez-Chavez, who refused to come in for an in-person interview and hasn’t been seen since. He’s known to live in the 30000 block of Live Oak Trail in Georgetown.

“The family and associates have a large acreage of the property there so it’s very easy to conceal someone that’s trying to hinder apprehension,” said Filla.

U.S. Marshals say Gutierrez-Chavez drives a very distinctive white Camaro with a black hood. He has two tattoos on his right arm.

“He has a tattoo with ‘Gutierrez’ written on it with a picture of a crown and red heart, and he has a tattoo on his right wrist which is a drawing of two lips,” said Filla.

Hector Gutierrez-Chavez is 5’10” and weighs 270 pounds. Authorities hope finding him will start to bring justice for this victim.

“Not only to bring closure for this specific case, but it’s also to prevent someone else in the future from having some type of involvement like this,” said Filla.
